First Reading:   Deuteronomy 8:1-3, 6-11, 17-18

Moses reminds God’s people not to forget the providential care of their God when they settle in the land of promise. REMEMBER is his strong command.

Second Reading:   1 Peter 3:7-11

As people who live in and for God, our manner of living with one another should reflect God’s love and bring glory to him.

Gospel:   Luke 12:22-34

Jesus’ purpose is to offer people an option in place of continual worrying. The world today has plenty for us to worry about, but Jesus offers us an alternative to an anxious lifestyle. This is not meant to belittle the fears or concerns of individuals; rather the purpose is to make a way for these emotions and thoughts to have an outlet and to end in a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.
